Lutheran Social Services (LSS) Food Pantry

LSS Food Pantry is currently located on our campus is the Westside Emergency Food Pantry.  With proper identification a person or family may receive an emergency food box up to 5 times within a year.   Twice a month we have Robert Sanders from Lutheran Social Services available to help with job applications, resumes and interviewing skills by appointment.  Our hours are Monday, Wednesday and Thursday from 9am to noon. Prayer Shawl Ministry Celebrates First Year!

How quickly a year has gone by since we first organized this loving shawl ministry! Over eighty shawls have been made and distributed in that time. Here is a note from one of the first recipients:

St. John’s Prayer Shawl Committee: Your dedication, time and efforts to provide prayer shawls for the sick, those recovering from surgery and those having a special need to feel God’s love, are very appreciated.

I especially want to thank you for one of the first ones blessed by our St. John’s congregation that was sent to my aunt Sara Margaret in South Carolina as she went through serious back surgery and a long recuperation. We are sincerely appreciative of your commitment of this blessed effort.
