50th Anniversary Celebration 1958 - 2008

St. John's is 50 this year

We are celebrating our 50th anniversary as a congregation this year.  All year long we will be celebrating the many ways in which God has inspired, led, and sustained us as we have proclaimed the gospel and ministered in this place.  His grace has been sufficient for us!

Apr 6 we will honor musicians who have previously served us along with those who are still active in the music department.

Mar 4 we will take time to celebrate the ministry of our educators.

Jun 1 we will thank God for those who have help maintain and care for building and grounds.

Jul 13 we will take time for a reunion and celebration for a those who have been confirmed over the fifty years at St John's.  We will also have a Senior High Youth group reunion event. 

The committee have chosen two projects to honor our 50 years.  The projects represent both local and global missions.  One project is to support our new ELCA Mission congregation in  Surprise - Desert Streams Lutheran Church.  The second project is to give the gift of water to the people of Kakinzi, Uganda through the ELCA World Hunger Appeal.
